it all starts with a dream
Hello World! My name is Kristy Dhume, I am the most excited about sharing my personal and professional achievements and breakthroughs with you.
As my professional experience has helped shape me in the wedding and event industry, Mom| Executive| Creator; it’s nice to be able to share some of my knowledge and wisdom throughout my years.
If my words, ideas, or thoughts touch only one-person, I would deem this next venture as successful.
I never intended on wanting to be famous; that lifestyle does not seem sustainable to me. I thoroughly enjoy going to the park with my kids- or grocery store- without drawing more attention then WOW, they look like they are having a good time.
With that being said, I will certainly try my best to stay on a topic but I do get excited sometimes about A LOT and may try to find relevance to the chosen topic to allow it to make sense. All my loved ones know this adorable and irresistible trait about me. One of the many! So buckle up, enjoy the ride. I hope you enjoy this as much as I will, too.
Hey y’all
Growing up in a small town just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. I was always a dreamer and carried my heart on my sleeve. My greatest memories were growing up with my two older brothers and younger sister, and a Mom & Dad that truly loved each other; my brother’s taught me how to be tough, my sister taught me true friendship, and my parents taught me perseverance. Even as a young girl, I dreamt of growing up quickly, I could not wait to seek out adventure in the real world.
In Tennessee, there was this beautiful barn that we would pass, down this back road- which at the time literally felt like it was out in the middle of nowhere- my Dad and Mom had passed it going into town. When I grew old enough to realize that this barn was not just any barn, but Reba McEntires former multi-million barn known to the rest of the world- Starstruck Farm; named after her original band name made up of members that passed away in a tragic airplane accident.
As years go by and I grew older, my parents moved us sporadically to Dallas, Texas where that barn and childhood memories were a distant memory. I graduated High School with dreams of living out a life of purpose and defined success as, “helping others reach a level of success.” I always had a passion for people and being of service.
My chosen path led to uncover real-life experiences and a path that helped shaped my perspective on the real-world. While pregnant with my first born, daughter Madelyn Rae, I began my first college course. I was destined to be a first-generation college graduate before welcoming this sweet gift of mine to this world.
My first chosen vocation was criminal justice. I had built this passion and desire towards wanting to study the mind of the criminal from a criminal justice perspective; so I was well-versed in starting a rehab facility with job placements services. By my 9th month of pregnancy, I was no longer able to fit into my college desk nor was I able to join my classmates on our class credit, “ride along.”

February 27, 2014 marked the happiest day of my life when I welcomed my daughter into the world. Truly a memory and pivotable moment in my life I will never forget.
Deciding to turn up my college experience by taking on-line courses with Liberty University with a newborn, and deciding to gear my studies to business with project management focus. Another baby later- blessed now with a boy and girl- and 10 years after my high school graduation, I received my undergrad degree in Business and accepted my diploma proudly May 2019 during our commencement ceremony. My family was the most proud that a Mom of two had been the first family member to complete a Bachelors degree program.
Moving back to Tennessee, bright eyed and bushy tailed (as they say down south), I was set out on my next adventure. This was another pivotal moment for me because I was now a single Mom, two toddlers, and a college degree. My focus and drive were fueled by wanting to give my kids the best life they had ever imagined.
I said, “alright God, I know you got me; but please don’t leave me alone with this heartbreak of having to break up my family for reasons most people would never believe.”
when god shows up
One of those many nights I had trouble getting to sleep, praying and holding my babies while they slept. In the middle of my prayer, I start drifting off to sleep. What I am going to describe next may or may not make sense to everybody, so bare with me. . .
When I woke, I remember vividly the feelings, emotions, and experiences that took hold of me during my dream. The best way I can describe it was as if my dream was made up of a sped up version of a flip book.
(Having to, “google,” when flip books originated, I thought it was like a 1990’s thing, but just realized that flip books originated 150 years ago in 1860. WOW! Okay…)
The flip book I felt like was placed in my dream was a sped up version of my upcoming wins, failures, breakthroughs, and setbacks. It was equivalent to God saying, “I understand the loneliness of this pain, there will be great losses, and there will be great wins; but fear not because I know what’s coming. I will lead you through.”
The biggest fear we face is the fear of ourselves.

The next course of my life was just that. My path crossed with the new owner of the farm I remembered when I was a little girl. I was asked to come on as the project manager to help turn this multi-million dollar barn into an exclusive wedding and event center; with each stalls turned into AirBnB’s. Once the project was close to completion, I was asked to come on as Venue Director.
This was only the beginning of a remarkable journey. . . the spark of my passion for the wedding and event industry was ignited.
My passion for the wedding and event industry began with a deep appreciation for creating memorable experiences for others. I found joy in helping friends and family plan their special occasions, discovering a talent for organizing details and bringing visions to life. As I delved deeper into the world of weddings and events, I have been captivated by the creativity, elegance, and emotional significance that each celebration embodies.
My passion may have been fueled by the opportunity to work closely with clients, understanding their dreams and turning them into reality. The ability to craft unique and personalized experiences for each individual or couple sparked a fire within me, driving me to continuously seek new inspiration and innovative ideas. As I witnessed the joy and gratitude on the faces of those you helped celebrate their milestones, my passion for the industry grew stronger, solidifying my desire to pursue a career where I can make a lasting impact on people's lives through the magic of events.
Fast forward to moving to Houston with my beloved family and husband. . .
